Rug care

Care that lasts.
Simple habits.

A wool rug looks better for longer with a little regular care. Here is what we recommend.

  • Vacuum regularly

Vacuum your rug regularly without a rotating brush or beater bar. Use suction only, and move in the direction of the pile.

  • Shedding is natural

Some shedding is natural with wool rugs, especially in the first weeks of use. It reduces with regular vacuuming.

  • Spills and spots

Blot spills straight away with a clean cloth. Spot clean with a mild detergent and avoid excess moisture. Do not bleach.

  • Creases after delivery

Temporary creases can appear when a rug is folded or rolled for shipping. They usually relax after the rug has been laid flat for some time.

  • Rotate every 6 months

Rotate your rug every 6 months so that wear and sunlight stay even across the surface.

  • Use a rug pad

A rug pad adds cushioning, helps keep the rug in place and protects the floor underneath.

  • Deep cleaning

For a full clean, professional rug cleaning is recommended. If the rug gets wet, let it dry completely.
